Workshop Information

The workshop is specifically designed for couples. The workshop will focus on your relationship with each other. Except for a brief introduction, you will not share anything with the larger group unless you so choose. The workshop format includes lectures, individual reflection and writing, demonstrations of communication skills, and opportunity to practice these new relationship skills with your partner.

The power of the workshop experience has a profound impact on participants. The workshop is often compared to 3-6 months of weekly couples therapy. Professional support is available to assist couples as they work individually.

Confidentiality is emphasized to establish a safe and relaxed environment. You will leave the weekend with a new awareness of the dynamics of a conscious love relationship; replace blame with cooperation, develop constructive ways to express anger and resolve conflict, and renew passion and pleasure in your relationship. These tools will teach you how to get and keep the love you have longed for in your relationship.

Workshop Presenters

The Imago Workshop is presented by Marriage and Family Therapists, Evie Shafner, MFCC, working in conjunction with husband and wife team, Cynthia Hunter, PhD., MFCC and Howard Brode, MS. Cynthia and Evie have been practicing psychotherapy for over 22 years, each with a specialty in treating couples.  Howard, after working 25 years in aerospace, changed careers and returned for a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Husband-and-Wife team, Cynthia and Howard, along with Evie, have all been trained as Imago Therapists and Workshops Presenters by the Institute of Imago Relationship Therapy under the direction of Harville Hendrix, PhD. Cynthia and Evie are also nationally trained advance clinicians in the Imago Institute. They are peers, colleagues and friends, and they enjoy working as a team.
